Bicentennial History Lecture Series

Last Sunday of every month, a guest lecturer will present a talk about some historic subject that is directly related to the history of Freemasonry in Missouri.
Lectures can be viewed on Zoom by signing up on the seminar announcement on the member portal. Or can be watched on Facebook Live via the Grand Lodge’s page at 7:00PM CST.
Previous lectures may be streamed via a video link located on the membership portal after the conclusion of the lecture on on this page.

April 25, 2021Freemasonry Crosses the Mississippi with R.W.B Steven L. Harrison
In April we welcome noted author, masonic scholar and speaker,  Rt. Worshipful Bro. Steven L. Harrison, as he presents “Freemasonry Crosses the Mississippi.” Join us as Bro. Harrison guides us through the early period when Freemasonry arrived in the Louisiana Territory and discusses it’s developments onward to the founding of the Grand Lodge of Missouri and perhaps a bit beyond.
Special Guest Host for the evening will be R.W. Bro. Emmett Bryson, Junior Grand Deacon of the Grand Lodge of Missouri.
March 28, 2021The Masonic College of Missouri with R.W.B Jacob W. Thompson
In March we welcome back Rt. Worshipful Bro. Jacob W. Thompson, Grand Orator, to discuss the Masonic College of Missouri, how it came into existence, the pupils, teachers, curriculum, interesting happenings, and inevitably what came of it in the end. You won’t want to miss this insightful look at the Missouri Craft’s attempt in the 1800: to truly take steps in education, spreading light and extolling Brotherly love. The College represented one of the first of it’s kind and an institution that took longer to fade then it existed. It’s existence and aftermath are well worth exploring.

Special Guest Host for the evening will be R.W. Bro. Charlie Wiegert, Grand Junior Warden of the Grand Lodge of Missouri.
February 28, 2021Missouri’s Masonic Governors
In February we are joined by guest co-host, Rt. W. Bro. Ty. G. Treutelaar, Deputy Grand Master, who’ll help us welcome Most Worshipful Brother John W. Hess, PGM, Grand Historian of the Grand Lodge of Missouri. M.W. Bro. Hess will be speaking that evening about Missouri’s Masonic Governors. While you may know a few of them off hand, there are many that left an enduring mark on our state and show the dedication to civic duty that stands out among the craft.

We’re proud to continue our Series with two special Guest Hosts, M. W. Bro. John Hess, PGM, Grand Historian & Rt.W. Bro. Richard W. Kaeser, Senior Grand Warden of Missouri, who’ll help us welcome back to Missouri (albeit virtually) Bro. Clifton Truman Daniel, to speak about his grandfather Past Grand Master and President of the United States, Harry S Truman. M. W. Bro. Hess will begin the evening briefly highlighting the continued efforts to celebrate the Bicentennial of the Grand Lodge as well as other upcoming opportunities. Then Bro. Daniel will share insights, stories, and other accounts from throughout M. W. Bro Truman’s early life that helped to shape and influence his character and mindset as he rose through the ranks of public service and the Fraternity.
