Right Worshipful Brother Jacob W. Thompson was born on February 16, 1990 in St. Louis. He grew up in Silex Missouri and attended school there, graduating in 2008. He then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo, graduating in 2012 and receiving a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Education with an emphasis in Leadership. While attending the University he was active in the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and served as State Leadership Director for the Missouri FFA Association. He has been involved in the banking industry since high school and after graduating college took a position with a community bank located in Louisiana, Missouri. He currently works as Assistant Vice President overseeing various bank operations and as a Loan Officer. He is an alumnus of the Paul J. Barret Graduate School of Banking in Memphis, Tn and Secretary of the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce.
Rt. W. Bro. Thompson’s masonic career began when he petitioned Silex Lodge #75 in September of 2014, looking to join his hometown Lodge where his Grandfather and Great Uncle had been a member. He was initiated in October, passed in November and raised on December 13, 2014. He became a multiple member of Troy Lodge in July of 2015. In 2016 he was elected Master of Silex Lodge and elected in 2017 & 2019 as Master of Troy Lodge. In both earlier terms he earned the Honor Lodge with Distinction Award. Brother Thompson currently serves as the District Deputy Grand Master of the 25th Masonic District.
Rt. W. Bro. Thompson has served as a member of the Membership Committee for several years and the Masonic Education Committee.
He is a member of the Valley of St. Louis, Orient of Missouri, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction. He serves as the Director of Education for the Valley of St. Louis and is a member of the Education, Master Craftsman, & Library Committees there. Currently he serves in the St. Louis Chapter Rose Croix Officer Line as Master of Ceremonies. In 2018 he was appointed as a Sovereign Grand Commanders Fellow for the A.& A.S.R.
Additionally he is a member and officer in St. Charles Missouri Chapter #1, Royal Arch Masons; Hiram Council #1, Royal & Select Masters; Ivanhoe Commandery #8, Knights Templar, Limerick Council #88, Knight Masons & Edgar Franklin Coonrod Council #493, Allied Masonic Degrees. Further, he is a member of the Missouri Lodge of Research, Scottish Rite Research Society and a Fellow of the Grand College of Rites. Lastly, he serves on the Advisory Board for Daniel Boone Chapter, Order of DeMolay.
Bro. Thompson considers himself an avid and active ritualist and enjoys exploring the meaning, history and development of our Ritual. This appreciation for our work has led him to hold 3 Subdivision Cards including the Sub I, Sub III and Sub II-Part IV, and participate in various degree teams for the Scottish Rite and York Rite bodies he belongs to.
