RWB Walter T. Chidister

Right Worshipful Brother Walter Thomas Chidister was born May 28, 1949 in Arkansas.

While attending Arkansas State University, he met and later married Kandi (Gray) Chidister and moved to Malden, Missouri in 1972.

Tom was initiated in Malden Lodge No. 406 on June 28th, 1983, and was elected as Master in 1987.   He served as Secretary of Malden Lodge No. 406 from 1988 until 1998, when Malden Lodge No. 406 consolidated with Four Mile Lodge No. 212.   In 2007, he was elected as Master of Four Mile Lodge No. 212.

In 2010, Right Worshipful Brother Chidister was appointed District Deputy Grand Master of the 40th Masonic District by Most Worshipful Brother Gail S. Turner, an office he held until 2016. In 2017, he was again called to fill a one-year term as DDGM.  Each of his six years as DDGM was served alongside his son, Right Worshipful Brother Jonce Chidister, DDGL of the 40th Masonic District.

Right Worshipful Brother Chidister is a member of the Valley of Joplin, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, where he holds the rank of 32nd Degree Knight Commander of the Court of Honor, the Springfield, Missouri York Rite Bodies, St. Christopher Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine, and the Missouri Lodge of Research..
